Montreal is a beautiful city with what I can only imagine is the most European lifestlye in North America.
The dry, passive sarcasm of the French is right in tune with my sense of humor. At lunch, my colleague ordered a Coke. The French waiter responded, “Ah, beaujolais American.”. Brilliant and true – wine people will get this. Of course you don’t laugh at a joke as much as approve it. The plat du jour was a lamb and lentil dish, so I ordered a glass of pinot noir.
